Privacy Policy

Effective January 1, 2026 · Last updated January 1, 2026

This policy describes how LocalLoop collects, uses, and protects your personal information across our mobile app and website.

1. Overview

LocalLoop ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding it. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

• Account info: name, email address, password (stored hashed), role (customer/business/nonprofit/admin).
• Business/nonprofit info: business or organization name, contact details, address, phone, and tax identification (EIN) or 501(c)(3) verification documents where applicable.
• Transaction data: coupon claims and redemption history, donation records, pledges and matches.
• Images and communications: selected offer images stored in our file storage, and support or deletion-request correspondence.
• Payment data: new in-app card payments are currently disabled. Historical payment records may remain; external donation sites have their own privacy practices.
• Service information: hosting and app-update providers process connection and technical information needed to deliver and secure the Service.
• Optional biometric login: your device verifies biometrics locally. Saved login credentials use the device's secure storage and are sent to our server when signing in. We do not receive biometric templates.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: create and maintain your account; process coupon purchases and redemptions; route donations to the correct nonprofit; provide customer support; send service-related notifications; detect and prevent fraud; improve and secure the Service; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

We process your data based on: performance of our contract with you (delivering the Service); your consent (where required); our legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention, product improvement); and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed:
• With relevant nonprofit and business partners for enrollment, offer, redemption and donation management. This may include identity/contact and transaction information appropriate to the workflow.
• With Stripe for applicable historical payment processing and reconciliation; new card checkout is disabled.
• With SendGrid (Twilio) for service emails and account-deletion requests.
• With hosting, file-storage and app-update service providers to operate the Service.
• When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for third-party advertising.

6. Cookies & Analytics

The website uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. Native apps store session information locally. The reviewed app does not integrate third-party advertising trackers.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Service, and as required to comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Audit logs of admin actions are retained for security purposes. You may request deletion as described below.

8. Security

Safeguards include HTTPS for app API traffic, password hashing, encryption of selected server-side personal fields, role-based access controls and audit logging. Native session information is stored locally; optional biometric credentials use device secure storage. These measures do not mean all local data is encrypted or that administrative actions have server-enforced multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email sid.choudaha@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place (such as standard contractual clauses) for any cross-border transfers.

12. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email and update the effective date below.
